Before my son was even born I started thinking about doing this. But, like much in my life, I procrastinated. Several days ago when I mentioned to my wife that I had been thinking about starting a blog, she was nice enough to refresh my memory. You see, a few years ago I started a journal. The first entry is dated 1/2/08. The last entry is dated 1/2/08. Ahhh… another successful new years resolution. The title for the lone entry was “THIS IS YOUR YEAR”. 2008 was a fantastic year… I just forgot to document it!
Anne and I were married in 2008 in Boston, MA. We were somewhat traditional and did not officially live together prior to getting married (with the exception of the 3 weeks leading up to the wedding – but who’s counting). Anyways, flash forward to May 30, 2011 – and our son is born. Officially the Franklin name will live on. Matthew, although 4 weeks early, is healthy as can be at 6lbs 8oz. From the moment I looked at him I saw a reflection of me in the purest sense. He has brought nothing but joy into my life since the day he was born.
I’ll be turning 40 on my next birthday and am still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. For now, I want to blog about my life.
Looking forward I hope to fill this site with the thoughts that run through my head on a daily basis. They are random… they are fast and they can change in the blink of an eye. (I am pretty sure I had A.D.D. as a kid – it was just never diagnosed). However, as history has proven so far – lets just hope I come back for a second entry.
