Well I would call the first week on the program a success, with the exception of one thing… The Dreaded Scale.
I was able to get in 4 runs this week, just missing on my goal of 5. However, my eating regiment was pretty spot on. I went over my alloted calories a few days, and under a few days to finish the week at 125 calories over. Not bad when the plan was to eat 7,000 calories less than normal – following my plan of 2 lbs lost per week.
Can you guess from the picture which days I ran… no trend here…
And that even including a delicious cupcake from my nieces birthday party. (it was sooo worth it)
So what the hell happened? I stayed flat. Well techincally I gained .5 lbs according to my lovely digital scale.
I am trying to not let it bother me and keep plugging away. But in my “dieting history”, the first week usually nets the biggest results. Have no fear, I will not be swayed off the path so easily. But fear for that scale, because if it doesn’t show a different result next week… it will be replaced.
It’s GOTTA BE the scale, right?

The scale and I have a love/hate relationship. Enough that I try to ONLY use it on bad days. Like those days that I’ve convinced myself I gained 10 lbs…and my crazy self needs reassurance that I didn’t.
I hear ya. I think I may need to lock it in a closet to avoid stepping on it daily.
