Below is my very own version of a bucket list.  However this is not to be completed before I die.  These are things I would like to do before I turn 50.  If I can manage to knock out more than half of these, I would say that would be a pretty fulfilling decade – not to mention giving me plenty of material to write about.

After sharing the list with my wife (since she would be included in many of the 40), she thought it sounded like I was planning a date for The Bachelor.  Since going on the show is not an option for me, she can only hope that we stay in the fantasy suite.

SPORTS

• Run a marathon
• Play a round of golf at Pebble Beach
• Play a round of golf at St. Andrews
• Complete an Olympic level triathalon
• Attend the final round of The Masters
• Go to the Superbowl
• Go to a World Series game
• See the Tour de France
• Attend a match at centre court of Wimbledon
• See a Premier League game
• Throw out the first pitch at a baseball game

ADVENTURE

• Participate in the running of the bulls
• Take a helicopter ride
• Take a hot air balloon ride
• Ride an elephant
• Drive on the autobahn
• Go white water rafting
• Swim with dolphins
• Go deep sea fishing for marlin

TRAVEL

• Safari in Africa
• Sip wine on the Italian countryside
• Kiss my wife under the Eiffel tower
• Ride the EUROSTAR from London to Paris
• See a sunrise on the beach

ENTERTAINMENT

• Be an extra on a movie set
• Attend a live TV show
• Perform 3 minutes of stand up at an open mic night
• Write a children’s book with my wife

PERSONAL GROWTH

• Learn a foreign language
• Take a cooking class
• Volunteer at a soup kitchen/food bank during the holiday season
• Learn to play chess
• Start a business

MISCELLANEOUS

• Rent a limo, dress up and have a night out like a celebrity
• Brew my own beer
• Drive a Ferrari
• Create our family geneology
• Meet the President and shake hands
• Stay at my ideal weight for more than 1 year
• Eat at a rediculously expensive restaurant
