About
For many years growing up in the Franklin household, the phrase “Greg did it” was often repeated, usually not in a positive light.
Why are you crying? Greg did it
What is all over the floor? Greg did it
Who finished the cookies? Greg did it
Who hit you? Greg did it
When did this happen? Greg did it
The phrase was uttered so often that my Mom still jokes to this day that my name became Gregdidit Franklin. Now I am trying to turn the tables — can Gregdidit now show what I have (and will) accomplish? No longer am I finding trouble (or was trouble finding me?) and cutting corners. I’ve learned that the harder you work, the “luckier” you get.
My wife describes me as an enigma wrapped up in a mystery (of course I had to google what enigma meant to figure out what she was talking about.) Perhaps it’s because I watch The Real Housewives of ______ City during commercial breaks of SportsCenter. Or maybe even because I was the one who suggested that we see 27 Dresses in the theater but yelled out before it started, “I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU MADE ME COME SEE THIS MOVIE!” in order to maintain some semblance of manhood. Or the fact that the National Treasure movies have taught me US history. Or the way I speak to Anne in riddles and code, then let her put the clues together to figure out what I am saying.
Somehow I was lucky enough to marry a very smart, funny and beautiful woman who happens to find happiness with me. Who knew that a girl from Harvard and a boy from Radford could make it work? Anne is my best friend, and recently I became a Dad to Matthew, who from day one has brought nothing but pure joy into my life. Although some may argue that Riley taught me some early lessons in fatherhood… he is my 4 legged child.
I have diagnosed myself with adult ADD, so I can’t guarantee how often new posts will arise, but I can promise that I will try to make you laugh… I know I do everyday. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry… and perhaps even laugh at me crying. I hope you enjoy my random thoughts, opinions, theories and rants and stop by often. Hope on and enjoy the ride of the blog. Hit the “follow” button and we will enjoy long walks on the beach while watching the sun set – oh yeah, and guzzle beer while we hunt wild game with our bare hands lounge on the couch doing our best Al Bundy impression (had to add some sort of testosterone to balance out my softer side).

needed a laugh today – I knew this would do the trick! you rock 🙂
